FAQ

Common questions.

What does Shirodhara feel like?+

A steady, warm ribbon of herbal oil flows across your forehead for 30–45 minutes. Most guests describe it as the quietest their mind has been in years — many drift in and out of sleep.

What is Shirodhara used for?+

Classically prescribed for insomnia, anxiety, racing thoughts, migraine, post-traumatic stress, hormonal imbalance and burnout. It deeply calms the autonomic nervous system.

How many sessions do I need?+

Single sessions are restorative. For chronic insomnia, anxiety or burnout we recommend a series of 3, 5 or 7 sessions across consecutive days for lasting nervous-system change.

Is it safe in pregnancy?+

Yes — with a doctor's clearance and gentle, pregnancy-safe oils. We adjust position and duration based on trimester.

Can I drive home afterwards?+

We recommend resting for at least an hour after Shirodhara. Many guests pair the session with an overnight on Dangar Island or a nearby Brooklyn stay.
