Your doctor

Ayurvedic doctor Sydney — BAMS qualified, pulse-trained, clinically practising.

Dr. Nikhila Venugopal is a qualified Ayurvedic Doctor (BAMS) practising in Sydney and online. Her consultations are not wellness chats — they are structured medical intakes using classical pulse diagnosis, tongue assessment and dosha mapping to identify the root cause of your symptoms.

Online or in-person

Online Ayurvedic consultation Australia — is it as effective as in-person?

For the initial consultation, an online session covers approximately 90% of what an in-person session achieves — full health history, dosha assessment, dietary and lifestyle guidance and a written health blueprint. The one element that requires in-person attendance is classical Nadi pulse diagnosis, which we offer on Dangar Island and at select Sydney locations. For clients outside Sydney, a virtual consultation followed by an in-person pulse session during a retreat booking is the most effective pathway.

What we work with

Ayurvedic consultation for sleep, anxiety and burnout.

Sleep disruption, anxiety and burnout are among the most common presentations at this clinic. The Ayurvedic framework identifies the specific dosha aggravation and ama pattern driving each presentation — which is why the same symptoms in different people often require different treatment protocols. Your written health plan will include food guidelines, a daily rhythm protocol and herbal support specific to your pattern.

Ayurvedic consultation for hormonal balance and fertility.

Cycle irregularities, PMS, PCOS, perimenopausal disruption and pre-conception preparation are all addressed through the Ayurvedic lens of tissue (dhatu) and channel (srotas) health. Dr. Nikhila works with your GP or gynaecologist's findings — not in place of them — to build a complementary protocol that addresses constitutional root causes.

Ayurvedic consultation for digestive health — IBS, bloating and reflux.

In Ayurveda, all disease begins with impaired agni — the digestive fire. IBS, bloating, reflux, food sensitivities and irregular digestion all map to specific agni and dosha patterns. Your consultation will identify which pattern is driving your digestion and produce a dietary protocol, herbal support and daily rhythm that rebuilds agni from the inside out.

Free 30-minute Ayurvedic consultation — how it works.

The free 30-minute consultation is a virtual session with Dr. Nikhila. It covers your key health concerns, a brief dosha assessment and a recommendation for the right next step — whether that is a full consultation, a specific therapy or a retreat program. There is no obligation to book further.

FAQ

Common questions.

Is an Ayurvedic consultation suitable alongside my GP care?+

Yes. The Ayurvedic consultation is designed to complement your existing medical care, not replace it. Dr. Nikhila reviews your current medications and test results during the intake and will not recommend anything that conflicts with your GP's treatment plan.

How is Ayurvedic medicine different from naturopathy?+

Ayurvedic medicine is one of the world's oldest complete medical systems, with a distinct diagnostic framework (Nadi Chikitsa pulse diagnosis), a pharmacopoeia of classical herbal formulations, and a therapeutic tradition spanning thousands of years. Naturopathy draws from multiple Western and natural medicine traditions. The two can complement each other well — and Dr. Nikhila is experienced working alongside naturopathic practitioners.

Virtual or in-person?+

Both. A 30-minute free virtual consultation is the entry point. Full consultations are available online or in-person on Dangar Island. For clients outside Sydney, a virtual consultation followed by an in-person pulse session during a retreat booking is the most effective pathway.

What do I receive afterwards?+

A written health blueprint within 3 business days — diet, daily routine (dinacharya), herbal recommendations and a treatment plan if therapies are indicated.

What conditions do you work with?+

Sleep and anxiety, burnout, digestive issues (IBS, bloating, reflux), hormonal and cycle imbalance, fertility preparation, perimenopause, autoimmune patterns and post-illness recovery.
